WD Elements Play is a stationary media player that unlike previous models from WD also has integrated storage. Elements Play ships with 1TB or 2TB storage and supports playback of 1080p video over HDMI.

As a harddrive manufacturer it is actually surprising this product hasn’t come any sooner, WD has been making players for years now but without integrated storage. After many versions of WD LTV Live media players we now have Elements Play, with up to 2TB of storage.

Elements Play measures 225 x 149 x 41 mm (LxWxH) and weighs 1.05 kg. Beside 3,5″ harddrive the player houses a media processor capable of playing most audio and video formats on the market, including MKV, RMVB, H.264, and MP3 and WAV.

Elements Play supports resolutions up to 1080p and comes with HDMI, component and separate digital audio output. Those who want to expand the storage capacity there are USB ports for connecting external harddrives, but unlike little brother WD TV Live, Elements Play does not have a network connection.
