Western Digital Caviar RE2 at TechReport

Western Digital is a respected actor on the harddrive market and has been delivering quality drives for long. Its Raptor-series is perhaps the best known as it was the first consumer harddrive at 10 000 RPM. Raptor biggest drawback is the storage capacity and if you want to add some more storage you might want to take a look a WD’s RE2-series. With a capacty of up to 400GB, platters with higher density and support for NCQ this is a series which primarily targeted for use with workstations and similar. But at TechReport they’ve ignored this and compared RE2 to regular consumer harddrives with some quite good results.
