Western Digital Raptor 150GB is without a doubt one of the fastest harddrives on the retail market, but performance has a tendency to come at a cost; noise. At SilentPCReview they’ve reviewed Raptor 150GB and done what they do best: test the noise to see if Western Digital’s flagship could be interesting even for those with sensitive hearing. Western Digital seems to done an impressive job keeping the noise at bay with this powerful hardrive and when idle the noise is up to par with the quietest 3.5″ hardrives on the market. When doing searches the result is not as positive, which is unavoidable due to the high rotation speed. But Raptor 150GB seems to do quite ok overall.
