Apple has made a statement where it urges users not to hack the iPhone, it goes on saying future software updates may actually render the phone useless. Apple is also implying that the unlocking software could render the iPhone useless, something we haven’t seen much of so far, but it emphasizes that the warranty does not cover iPhone’s broken by unlocking hacks. Apple has a five year exclusive contract with AT&T and intend to make sure that users remain tied to AT&T. Exactly how far Apple is prepared to go remains to be seen, but by the looks of it, Apple is intending to do what they can to stop the unlocking of iPhone.
