WiMax – IP phone home

Head of WiFi VoIP? Forget that, now it’s WiMax VoIP. The people over at Vonage and TowerStream is together developing a technology for suing the 802.16 standard called WiMax to make wireless phonecalls up to 30 miles range. Vonage claims it is exploring new areas when it comes to cheap telephony and broadband. When or where the service will be launched is uncertain, but a hot tip would be Japan and perhaps Korea, and about ten years later the rest of the world.
