Microsoft has released the final version of the Windows Home Server update Power Pack 3. It released a beta back at the end of July and was hoping to have the final version ready for release by the launch of Windows 7. The reason was because PP3 would bring a lot of updates for Windows 7 users.
Microsoft has connected the library feature of Windows 7, which means all computers of a Home Server connector can access shared documents on the storage server.
Other nice features include scheduled backups where a Windows 7 PC can be set to wake up for a backup and automatically resume sleep mode when the backup is complete.
It has also improved the integration of Windows Media Center with automatic storage of TV recordings and console view directly in the MCE interface.
A complete walkthrough of Power Pack 3 can be found at Microsoft’s website and will automatically install on WHS systems with Power Pack 2, from November 24th.
