Windows Vista closing in on 40 million sold licenses

Windows Vista and its popularity have been debated lively, but Bill Gates has now revealed that Microsoft is closing in on 40 million sold licenses of Windows Vista. A lot better figures than we would’ve expected, as we’ve been hearing a lot of doubt and poor sales in comparison to XP, during the first equivalent months. Vista has every possibility to outperform XP, but has been meeting higher resistance than XP. There is no doubt of where we’re heading, especially after that Microsoft has released SP1, also known as Fiji. That is despite the fact that SP1 is not expected to bring any major updated, but above all better compatibility, stability and security.

AMD has been one of the (few?) companies that has chosen to upgrade to Vista right away, while Intel and several other companies will wait until the end of the year. There is no doubt that Vista will replace XP in many workplaces at the end of 2007 and during 2008.
