Windows Vista has had a rough start and been criticized for its poor game support and such. Alas, this hasn’t been just empty words as the sales of Vista has been far from impressive. Analysts at NPD has namely compared the sales of Windows Vista with those of Windows XP during the first week of each launch. It turns out that Microsoft has sold 59 percent less retail versions of Windows Vista than Windows XP during the launch weeks. Although the Windows Vista PC sales is up considerably; 69 percent better than the launch of Windows XP.
“Thus, the preliminary data suggests that consumers are getting the message that they need a more robust system to take advantage of some of the new features in Vista, and thus a relatively smaller number are opting to upgrade older machines with the new OS themselves,”
