Windows Vista heading for a cold reception

Windows Vista was launched on the business market on November 30th. Many consumers were wondering why us regular people will have to wait until next year before we can buy Microsoft’s latest operating system. You may think that Microsoft’s choice of launch date has to do with the demand and that companies simply require the software before the retail market does. However, new surveys says that many companies are expected to wait with upgrading, some even until 2008. There simply aren’t enough arguments to cover the high expenses that comes from a software update and educating the personnel.

“All told, that translates to about 20 million PCs, a fraction of the roughly 160 million computers that businesses are expected to buy next year. Even companies buying new computers will look for PCs loaded with the existing XP software. “Vista adoption is going to be a disaster,” Kay says.”

Vista seems to be getting a cold reception and not even Office 2007 is expected to be greeted with arms wide open. Simply because the new suite relies a whole lot on the fact that you first of all use Windows Vista as the operating system. What Microsoft will do to tackle this problem remains to be seen, but we should mention that Microsoft is the world’s largest software developer and the supreme such.
