Windows XP has had to get by with Service Pack 2 for about a year and half now, which isn’t all that bad if the third would have come this winter. Unfortunately Microsoft has chosen to downprioritize SP3 in favor of other things, the most obvious being Windows Vista. It gives you a hint of that not everything may be going as planned with the development of Vista,, but at the same time it wants the media focus to be on Vista. We still don’t have an official launch date for Vista, but hopefully we will see it at the end of 2006 at least. The last we heard this was the deal with SP3, but it has now been moved a year into the future. Source: TheReigster
