Blu-ray and HD DVD both have quite rigorous copy protections. It starts with AACS on the disc and continues with HDCP through the cable to the monitor. Now it seems there is a pretty serious hole in the new version of WinDVD that is suppose to play these movies as you can use the Print Screen button to save the movie. You get full resolution and the computers of today with hardware accelerated support for the compression technologies are definitely fast enough to do so. We’re questioning whether this is something that anyone actually would use. This will also be fixed with a new patch users will be forced to upgrade with and new drivers for the graphics card that will make this impossible.
