Xbox 360 gets an HDMI output?

Xbox 360 has as you perhaps know no digital video interface, somethign we’ve complained about ever since the video game console was launched. Not just because it offers superior image quality than analog equivalents but also so that you can play HDCP-encrypted material, something that gets even more urgent now that Microsoft will launch its external HD DVD player for the video game console. Now a blurry photo has appeared where we can see an Xbox 360 motherboard with a HDMI output. There are no details about what Microsoft is really plannig here, but if it is planning an HDMI-equipped Xbox 360 and Microsoft does release it we are very curious to hear what the current Xbox 360 owners has to say about it.

An alternative is that it is actually working on a HD DVD version of Xbox 360 where an integrated HDMI output is a must to be able to supoprt the HDCP technology. We will most likely hear more about this soon and would Microsoft launch a new version of Xbox 360 with HDMI output it should be sometime around November. Then Sony will release its HDMI-equipped PlayStation 3.
