Xbox 360 Premium comes with an external harddrive, which most of you probably know. But what you perhaps don’t know is that the already small 20GB harddrive in fact only has about 12GB space available. For those who feel that this is not enough Datel has designed an interesting solution called XSATA. It’s a unit that is attached between your Xbox and the external harddrive, like a sandwich, to create a link to your PC through the USB interface. Through XSATA you gain access to the Xbox 360’s harddrive with your computer with a compatible Xbox 360 file browser like any other network drive. This makes it possible to transfer files to and from the Xbox 360’s harddrive to the PC’s drive.
If you need more space you can simply temporarily move some of the data to your PC. You can also send material through e-mail to your friends as long as it’s not locked to your Live! account. An interseting way to avoid a full Xbox 360 drive that will cost about £30, ~$50.
“Made by Datel, it’s a plug ‘n’ play peripheral that sits betwixt your 360 and the hard drive. It links up to your PC via USB, which allows you to move content backwards and forwards using any Xbox-friendly file manager software.”
