Xbox 360 caused quite a few headlines early in its lifespan when what seemed to be rather a lot of people reported about overheating consoles. According to statistics from Microsoft it was mainly the media making it sound like there were more problems than there actually were. It all calmed down for some period until recently when an Electronic Arts employee stated that Microsoft’s figures at 3-5% were really tenfold; 30-50%. Microsoft stayed put and claimed that there were not real facts backing up his statement.
At the same time it is starting to look like the cooling of the Xbox 360 is not enough for when the system is under full load , I.e. when all three cores are actually used. This since newer games seems to have devastating effects on some people’s consoles.
