Microsoft is often looked at as an inexhaustible pile of money and even if this correct to some degree it has made a few losses in the past. And it definetely doesn’t make ends meet with all projects. One of the projects we’ve known about is Microsoft’s first console Xbox. In an article about Microsoft’s current situation, “Microsoft’s Midlife Crisis”, Forbes has written that Xbox has together with MSN Online and other smaller software cost Microsoft about $7 billion the last four years.
So in fact not everything Microsoft touches becomes gold and after 30 years on the market it is starting to feel the competition breathing down its neck and the size of the company is starting to become an issue.
