It’s no secret that both nVidia and ATi use optimizations in their drivers to boost performance when running benchmarksprograms and such. It seems as if XGI can have followed suit with their launch of their Volari series. Though there is no real evidence yet, there is mystical things to be found in their driver “Reactor”. The file xrvkp.sys contains a long list of .exe files belonging to popular games and benchmarkingprograms. We don’t know if this might be for some other purpose though. As for now we can but wait and see what the future might bring, but it certainly doesn’t look that bright a future for XGI if they are caught with application specific optimizations already.
