YouTube has managed to get banned once again because of its huge collection of videos. In December 2006 Iran decided to block YouTube and now the turn has come to Thailand. The government of Thailand decided to block the video site after that the owner, Google, refused to remove a movie that criticized the King of Thailand.
“Communications Minister Sitthichai Pookaiyaudom said the site was banned after a 44-second film showing graffiti over the king’s face was aired.”
The government says that it will remove the ban of the site when the specified movie is removed, but Google has only agreed to take a closer look at the matter, which is probably more about freedom of speech than anything else.
