YouTube.com is most likely a site more than a few of you have bumped into. The site has grown to become one of the most popular in the world by letting users upload videos that can then be streamed directly from the site’s servers. As all other companies YouTube is trying to develop new services and expand but not everyone takes assistance from the military. YouTube will namely start using a movie rendering technology called MotionDSP which was used already back in 1998 by the American military. The technology has a web-based interface and makes it possible to improve the image quality of videos by finding and replacing faulty or lost pixels.

YouTube is expected to test MotionDSP in a beta version this year and the service will be completely free of charge. You can get a preview of the technology already today where low-res videos are used and we have to say that there is a quite a significant difference between before and after.
