Zalman is one of the leading companies when it comes to making processor coolers where it has taken the concept with efficient and quiet coolers several steps forward the last couple of years. When we took a closer look at Zalman’s passive water cooling kit Reserator 1 we were quite pleased and granted it an Editor’s Choice award. The Reserator series has been designed from the base and up to cool your computer’s components completely passive with the help of big water reservoir and radiator which is put outside of the chassis and thanks to the clean design it didn’t look all that bad on the side of the chassis either. We are far from the only ones who liked Zalman’s Reserator series and it has continued to develop new models and has now displayed two new units.
The two new models it has displayed at Computex are called Reserator 1 v2 and Reserator 2. The first use the same tower design as the previous Reserator systems and what the differences are we don’t know yet. Earlier Zalman launched the Reserator 1 plus which could very well be the same model with another name.
What’s more interesting though is the Zalman Reserator 2 which use a completely new design seen to the history of the Reserator series. Here the combined water reservoir and radiator look more like a classic radiator. A design which according to Zalman will be more efficient than the two model. This may very well be true, but the question is if not the first design looked better alongside the compuer. We are waiting for more information about Reserator 2 to pop up.
