Component maker Zotac is one of NVIDIA’s closest partners and it has now announced the new ZOTAC GeForce GTX 460 3DP that offers something unique, name support for up to four monitors. The graphics card has three DisplayPort outputs and a dual-link DVI port.
ZOTAC GeForce GTX 460 3DP is based on the GF104 GPU and has its 336 CUDA cores clocked at 1420 MHz while the GPU operates at 710 MHz. Slightly higher than the reference frequency of 675 MHz. Like the reference card Zotac’s new models comes with 1GB GDDR5 memory operating at 3600 MHz and the cooler is similar to those of other cards from Zotac.
Zotac points out that the 3DP model is the first GTX 460 cards that supports up to four monitors at the same time and says that this opens new doors for both office users and gamers with resolutions up to 6400×1200 pixels.
“Quadruple-display computing is becoming more popular for gaming and office use. With the new ZOTAC GeForce® GTX 460 3DP we can deliver quadruple-display computing with NVIDIA® Fermi architecture from a single graphics card, a world’s first,”
Zotac mentions nothing about NVIDIA’s multi-monitor technology Surround Vision in the press material, but we really hope this is supported with three monitors. This would drastically reduce the cost needed for experiencing surround gaming with NVIDIA graphics cards.
The card is sold together with Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, but the price was not revealed.
