Microsoft’s second generation portable media player is getting closer. Zune HD will go up against Apple iPod Touch and other similar media player, and will launch on September 15th. The information is strengthened by pictures of a Zune HD advertisement and a countdown at Best Buy. It’s not just the launch date of the player we’ve learned in the last few days, but also some info on the user interface and Zune HD’s browser.
The user interface shows promise with nice effects and effective animations when navigating between the different functions. Something the multi-touch support seems to cooperate well with. Several videos have appeared showing the tasteful AMOLED screen that will one of the key functions of the player.

Microsoft looks to have joined the power of the hardware, with 720p video support, with an exciting interface and will take full advantage of the WiFi support with a new browser that has received praise at this early stage.
We look forward to learning more about Zune HD and if nothing else the player will appear in stores in about a month. The prices will be around $220 for 16GB and $290 for the 32GB model.
More information on the function and interface of the player can be found in the following previews;
