Sony Ericsson has presented the next iPhone challenger and hopefully this one will become more of a direct competitor than the Xperia, which got a lukewarm reception. Sony Ericsson is developing a new model called “Idou” and it is expected to appear sometime during the summer. As you might have guessed it sports a big touchscreen display, measuring 3.5″, using a Symbian-based operating system that should make it very userfriendly.
Some of the juicier specifications has already been revealed, and they include a high quality display with up to 16 million colors and 16:9 widescreen format. Idou also supports Turbo 3G and WiFi, but most astonishing is perhaps the digital camera sensor fitted inside the phone. The camera has a 12 Megapixel resolution and Xenon-based flash, and hopefully some decent optics for good pictures.
We hope to hear more about Sony Ericsson’s Idou concept, but until you can always visit the website published by the manufacturer.
