Apple has always been a premium manufacturer and a company with envious margins, but even Apple is now feeling the slowing economy. There’s definitely nothing wrong with Apple’s economy, but customers are starting to look the other way when they see the price of Macs. According to NPD Group this has started to show in the sales in the USA where Mac dropped 6%, considering sold units, compared to the same month last year. At the same time PC sales went up by 13%, numbers does not include online sales.

According to NPD analysts, Mac prices is one of the biggest reasons, but also the fact that Apple’s iMac series hasn’t been updated since April last year. At the same time they don’t think Apple users have been switching to PC. Mac followers simply choose to wait until the economy improves, something Apple’s master guru Steve Jobs pointed out earlier on.
