In the middle of the next month, Intel will release their Pentium 4-processors with 800Mhz FSB. The mass production will probably start in the middle of May and several chipsets with support for 800Mhz FSB will be released at about the same time. Intel have two main chipsets for release, the first is i875P (Canterwood), the successor to the i850E-chipset on the High-End market. The sequel to the i845PE-chipset is the i865PE-chipset (Springdale). Except support for 800Mhz FSB, both the i785P- and i865PE-chipsets can utilitize dual channel DDR at DDR400 speeds to match the high bus speed. Xbitlabs has managed to get their hands om a motherboard based on the new i865PE-chipset and are sharing some performance tests with us.
