AMD got a very generous offer from the state of New York a while back if it would build its new plant in New York, and while AMD is yet to take advantage of said offer, it seems AMD is considering a partner for its new plant at the Luther Forest Technology Campus, NY. We can’t say we’re surprised by this approach as AMD’s economy is not for the better at the moment and even if AMD can certainly raise the money purely on the potential of the new plant, we’re not so sure it’s good idea to go into this venture on your own when your on such shaky ground as AMD is right now. AMD is not confirming the partner hunt though, but simply saying it’s a possibility and not denying it. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
