AMD has been slashing the prices of its single and especially its dual-core models quite a few times by now and there doesn’t seem to be any end to it. AMD has namely made another price cut with the Athlon X2 series. This means that practically every processor of the X2 series will become about $20-30 cheaper, but in the case of the 6000+ the price drops by $60 and lands at $169. This means that the entire X2 series now costs less than $200. Athlon X2 4000+, 4200+ and 4400+ all cost less than $100; $69, $79 and $89 respectively. Apparently, AMD takes the price/performance market very seriously, most likely because that’s all it has at the moment.
