AMD has held a small event in California where it displayed some of its coming products. Among these you could see both single and dual processor systems with Barcelona-based processors. Both systems were encoding a Spiderman 3 1080p trailer in H.264. The system with dual Barcelona-processors was capable of doing so at near real-time. According to HardOCP the processors were only lukewarm. During the same event, AMD also presented a 300mm wafer with 45nm SRAM circuits from its Fab 36 in Dresden, Germany. SRAM is often used to test new manufacturing processes. These are from ready to be launched and the processors manufactured with this process are expected arrive during the second quarter of 2008, at soonest.
