We all know that the Asian market has enormous potential. This merely because of its extreme size. China has for many software and hardware manufacturers been hard to establish a good market in, mostly because of their countries economical views in the public.
AMD has apparently succeeded in this feat though, and as they signed up to help Dawning create the fastest Chinese supercomputer, AMD also took actions and is now flooding the Chinese markets through Chinas largest IT distributor; Digital China Holdings, and a network of 5000 retailers. This does in other words mark the most important deal in AMD’s history since its creation.
This will probably also be of importance to China itself, not only because that this will help stabilize the Chinese economy, but also since AMD has proclaimed interest in investing in China itself and also in human rights issues.
AMDboard.com has for months collected all information of this that they have found. I must confess I’m a bit impressed, and you can find the whole tale here.
