AMD and Intel is continuing their work with more power processors and now the time has come for AMD to broaden its Opteron series with new and more efficient models. It has namely expanded its HE series, Highest Energy Efficiency, with three new models. AMD Opteron 1218 HE, 2218 HE and 8218 HE, which all work at 2.6GHz. The maximal TDP have been calculated to 68W and will according to AMD offer market-leading performance-per-watt. AMD has at the same time launched new models of its regular Opteron series where the TDP is 95W. Opteron 2220 and 8220 are for dual- and octo-processor systems and work at 2.8GHz.
