AMD lowered the expectations before the quarterly report earlier last month and has now been forced to lower them even further. The last quarter AMD’s revenue was $1.77 billion and this quarter it is expecting a revenue of $1.225 billion. The main reasons for the lower revenue are the price war with Intel, but also a decreased processor sale to the resale channel. AMD has announced that it will restructure to increase efficiency and reduce costs by up to $500 million. It will also try to reduce discretionary expenses and limit new hirings to critical positions. AMD will release more detailed information during its press event on April 19.
