AMD is currently working on a new formfactor for the SFF market and its new platform will be called DTX. When we last reported about the new formfactor there weren’t many details nor information about the format and design of the new platform, but now AMD has released some guidelines. The size of the motherboard is currently 24.4cm x 20.3cm for the regular DTX standard while mini-DTX will measure 17cm x 20.3cm. AMD’s slimmed DTX platform will support processors with a power of at up to 65W and the motherboards will be equipped with two expansion slots for graphics cards or such. Then final specifications haven’t set yet though, but at least they’re starting to get there.
