AMD/ATI R600 has suffered from numerous delays and still hasn’t arrived, but in a few weeks we expect the first DirectX 10 card from the graphics card manufacturer to finally arrive. Already speculations have started regarding the successor of R600 and at Fudzilla they’ve now announced that AMD/ATI is planning to launch the R600 successor, R700, during the first quarter of 2008. The only details that are available at this time is that the new graphics circuit will have support for Shader Model 4.0 and DirectX 10. If AMD/ATI would be able to stick to this launch schedule there will be less than a year between R600 and R700, which would then bring us back to the previous cycle. Usually, there are about 12 months between each major circuit update.
