Apple wants to expand with more DRM-free music

0

Two months ago, Apple and EMI made a deal for selling the music studios’ music without Apple’s FairPlay DRM. Even if iTunes is the only online store offering EMI’s music without DRM today, more are expected for follow. According to a letter MacRumors.com has gotten their hands on it seems that more partners are interested in selling music without DRM and it seems that Apple has now made it possible for more studios to sell their music without DRM and a higher quality. The DRM-free music will be released this month and cost $1.29 per song, but Apple also offers the possibility to upgrade your locked songs to the open ones with a higher quality for $0.30. What music companies, if any, that will follow remains to be seen, but the current trend is certainly one we’re eager to follow.
