Nothing’s really surprising about this. There was never any doubts that ATi was going to launch two FireGL cards based on Radeon 9600 and 9800.
Will ATi remain as the primary base of development for DirectX 9.0 and Open GL 1.5/2.0? Or Will nVidia take over the role with its Quadro FX 3000? Thus far, we haven’t seen any major migration to nVidia’s platform, but we can’t know for sure yet.
