Biostar is one out of many manufacturers that has started to flood the market with information about its new Socket AM2 motherboards. But contrary to most of the other we’ve reported about, Biostar is not as well know, not at least around these parts. Usually we just see its low-end models in stores. Biostar isn’t exactly known for its enthusiast motherboards either, but this will change now. Now that it launches the first AM2 motherboards there are a few budget models, but also two seemingly well equipped models. The flagship is based on NVIDIA’s nForce 590 SLI chipset and is called Biostar TForce 590 SLI Deluxe.
Biostar has first of all let the nForce 590 SLI chipset bring all of its nice features such as SLI with some extra spice thanks to NVIDIA’s LinkBoost technology. Overall the specifications are sturdy, as seen below;

Both of these enthusiast baords have several nice Biostar-specific features, which makes them extra interesting for overclockers and enthusiasts. Everything from LED error display to built-in power and reset buttons are really things that can enlighten an overclocker’s day. It will also offer better overclocking capabilities through higher voltages for the DDR2 memory, among other things. To top it all off it has added several nice overclocking functions in the BIOS and at the same time developed software for overclocking and system surveillance in Windows.
Biostar seems to be releasing some very nice enthusiast products and we are eager to see how well these perform in comparison with the more established brands.
