Corsair has launched a new set of DDR-SDRAM for AMD’s Athlon 64 FX-platform and they are the first registered memorymodules with a specifide speed of DDR433. Corsair TwinX1024RE-3500LLPT aren’t just certified for high frequencies but also with keeping aggressive timings. The modules have just like their precursor, TwinX1024RE-3200LLPT, a SPD programmed for 2-3-2-6 timings. Since these timings are preprogrammed into the SPD the PC will always use these timings as long as you don’t change them manually in BIOS, which tends for optimal performance even for the unexperienced user.
The module also supports ECC which doesn’t feel that important since the Athlon 64 FX-platform actually is a desktopplatform despite its high price.
Corsair TwinX1024RE-3500LLPT looks like a fair upgrade for Athlon 64 FX-owners that want to pressure their systems even more. But since the Socket 940-platform for athlon 64 FX in a near future will be phased out, and with it the demand for registered memorymodules, it feels like theses memories won’t be of much use for many.
