NVIDIA will not let AMD launch its R600 circuit and walk all over them and as previous rumors have indicated there will be a tweaked version of GeForce 8800 at the R600 launch. R600 will be named Radeon X2900XTX and by the looks of it NVIDIA will use its renowned “Ultra” suffix for its new model. NVIDIA informed its partners about the new GeForce 8800 Ultra card earlier this week, according to VR-Zone, and it is convinced that this card will be able to keep up with Radeon X2900 XTX and perhaps even beat it before AMD gets the drivers working properly. We’re excited to see what the new graphics circuits can do.
