GeForce GTS 450 will not launch officially until another two weeks, September 13th. Already a pretty big review has leaked onto the Internet where we find a whole lot of pictures and benchmarks starring ASUS GeForce GTS 450 TOP.
The graphics card that is expected to take on AMD’s Juniper GPU and Radeon HD 5700 series is compared to Radeon HD 5770 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460, two popular mid-range cards.
The specifications were revealed long ago, with 192 CUDA cores, but unlike the regular model ASUS is planning the TOP model has been overclocked from factory. The GPU now operates at 925 MHz and the memory has been upped to 4 000 MHz. A lot higher than the regular model has, 783/3600MHz.
The impressive frequencies aside the card is having a hard time keeping up with main contender Radeon HD 5770, where it is on average 8% slower. The Fermi architecture performs as expected where it shines in DirectX 11 applications where GTS 450 beats the competition.
GeFore GTS 450 will be easy to overclock and if NVIDIA can put the price on a reasonable level it can still become a good mid-range alternative.
