I am convinced that a number of our readers just as myself has got cought for the new WWII shooter Call Of Duty.
It has quickly become a real success in the online comminuty and Call Of Duty is being played a lot online, despite that the game is only a couple of weeks old.
At Firingsquad.com they have also picked up Dall Of Duty’s popularity and they have made up their minds to make something creative with the Quake 3 based shooter. The whole thing turned out to an article which test the performance in the game with a lot of different graphics cards. On the first round it is ATi’s product line which is on the test bench and 11 different RAdeon cards has been tested in the first part of the article.
Despite that the graphics engine has a couple of years on its neck ActiVision has managed to squeeze some real nice graphics out of the engine which also can stress today’s graphics cards. One of more interesting discoveries is the performance gain for R9800 Pro 256MB compared to the cheaper 128MB model. In a high resolution and with a lot of eye candy there is up to 30 % difference between them (and that is in a playable territory). A small hint of the future maybe?
You can read the whole performance comparison on Firingsquad.com.
OBS! For those who haven’t yet tested Call Of Duty with surround sound (Preferrably with EAX 3), try it! 😉
