It was more than a month ago when we first heard the rumors of Core 2 Duo price cuts from April. Several online retailers have now cut their prices and introduced three new models; Core 2 Duo E6420, E6320 and E4400. The two first will replace the two older E6400 and E6300 since they cost just as much, but the new models have twice the L2 cache. Core 2 Duo 4400 is a new 800MHz FSB model which costs $130 in stores, while E6420 and E6320 cost ~$180 and ~$160 respectively. Below we gather the prices Intel has for its new processors and the updated prices for the older ones;
You can find E6700 for little less than $300 today and E6600 is closing in on $220. The first tests appeared in March already and even if they didn’t reveal any extraordinary the new models lived up to the Core 2 reputation.
