Intel is confident to keep the performance advantage, despite K10

With the launch of the Core architecture, Intel got a huge confidence boost and has been bragging quite a lot about the performance and power efficiency of its newer processors. Intel has, once again, made a bold statement through its VP Paul Otellini. Bloomberg reports that Otellini said that Intel will maintain its performance advantage over AMD, even after the competitor has launched its K10-based processors. His speech was foremost about the desktop market and we suspect that Intel is feeling a whole different pressure on the server market. According to the latest reports Intel’s 45nm quad-core Yorkfield and AMD’s Phenom X4 ‘Agena’ will arrive at almost the exact same time and we can expect the showdown of the century somewhere around Christmas.
