Intel seems to lack interest in the budget market and will not try to cover the need with its own chipsets anytime soon. Rumors are saying that the processor giant will instead order more chipsets from the Taiwanese circuit manufacturer SiS. SiS671 and SiS672 are the two chipsets Intel wants more of. They support most Core 2/Pentium D processors, DDR2 memory and sport an integrated DX9 graphics circuits, and will be used with motherboards with low cost margins, for example they would be a part of Intel’s new venture on the mini-ITX market. Its Little Valley D201GLY motherboard, which surfaced earlier, is based on a SiS chipset.
