Intel has previously made revelations that pointed to that it would take the step into the high-end segment of the graphics card market. Some more information has now surfaced as Intel’s Visual Computing Group has presented some more detailed information about its future concept. Among others they are suppose to have mentioned graphics circuits with up to 16 cores and up to 16 times the performance of the fastest cores of today. These circuits will appear at the end of 2008 or early 2009 and will most likely be made with at least a 45nm manufacturing process. We can hardly complain about getting another actor in the high performance market and if Intel can keep what they promise both AMD and NVIDIA should be worried.
