Intel has started focusing more and more on the SFF market and the processor manufacturer’s continuous work with more efficient manufacturing processes has resulted in several possible low energy platforms. New information about two new SFF platforms has appeared and both are planned to arrive next year, based on Intel’s coming 45nm processors. The processor of the two platforms is called Silverthorne and will be paired with either Intel’s single-circuit chipset Poulsbo or Tolapai. Both of these energy efficient SFF platforms are expected to appear during the second quarter of 2008 and the question is which formfactor Intel will use, perhaps mini ITX?
