Intel was earlier accused of infringing on AmberWave Systems’ patents covering its strained silicon manufacturing process. Amber Systems is a company specializing on manufacturing processes and in the development of these it has of course patented important achievements and progresses, something Intel now seems to have infringed on. The two have reached a settlement where Intel will license Amber Systems entire patent portfolio and all patents that may come within a period of ten years. The exact amounts are confidential.
