Intel has started revealing its plans for its future ventures on the mini ITX market, which is currently dominated by the processor manufacturer VIA and its integrated system. The Mini ITX platform has become more and more popular as it due to its minimal format makes it possible to use it in not so spacious areas, like the stereo rack in the living room, or perhaps the kitchen. Intel has apparently realized the potential of the growing mini ITX market and the most important piece of the puzzle is obviously its new energy efficient processors, which will be the heart of these minimalistic systems.

Intel Little Valley D201GLY is a motherboard that, just like the VIA EPIA series, has an integrated processor. The chipset is from SiS, now that the cooperation with ATI is up in smoke for obvious reasons. The SiS chipset comes with an integrated AGP8x graphics circuit, which does sport hardware accelerated DVD playback, but not Vista Premium. According to DailyTech, Intel is expected to launch D201GLY with an integrated Celeron 215 processor at the end of May, or the start of June.

“Intel integrates a Yonah-based Celeron processor on the D201GLY. The integrated processor is a Celeron 215 in a BGA 479 package. Intel clocks the Celeron 215 at 1.33 GHz on a 533 MHz front-side bus. It also has 512KB of L2 cache. Despite being Yonah-based, the Celeron 215 is a single-core processor.”
