Intel P45 is the successor to the mainstream chipset P35. Last we heard, this chipset was still slated for launch in Q2 2008, along with the rest of the Eaglelake family. The obvious exception being X48 which is due in January with the release of the Intel Core 2 Extreme 9770 and its 1600 MHz FSB. The 1600 MHz FSB is also what is new with the P45 chipset. Other than that there’s not much new, a few bug fixes, but that’s it. According to sources to CustomPC, the P45 chipset may arrive even sooner, even in January when the X48 is also suppose to arrive.
