Intel has unveiled some more info on its plans to launch a mobile quad core processor. During an IDF conference in Beijing, Intel revealed that it will launch the first mobile quad-core processor in 2008, and with it claim the performance throne of the gaming, and other demanding tasks, segment of the laptop market.Even if we will see quad cores in the high-end series of Intel’s laptops we should not expect the technology to appear in the cheaper [laptop] segments anytime soon. Intel simply feels that there are too few multithreaded applications to justify the technology to such a degree.
