In about a month we will have the first processors for Intel’s LGA1156 platform available in stores. Though Lynnfield is based on Intel’s current 45nm technology and will become both Core i5 and Core i7. Intel’s first 32nm processors of the Westmere architecture will first appear in Q1 2010 and so far we have been left without any specific product naming or specifications. A pretty detailed roadmap has now leaked revealing no less than six different Clarkdale models.
Intel will launch four Clarkdale models in the Core i5 family; i5-670, i5-661, i5-660, i5-650 and i5-640. The two remaining models will be part of the Core i3 family and be called i3-540 and i3-530.
The six processors operate at clock frequencies between 2.93GHz and 3.46GHz, and ships with two CPU cores and HyperThreading support. The processors have 4MB cache and prices will be between $170-280 for the Core i5 models, while Core i3 models will be priced at around $140 and $120 respectively.
