Interactive Socket AM2 pin-mod guide

AMD still uses the more classic processor design where the CPU house the pins that connects to the motherboard. The “legs” of Socket AM2 are 940 all in all and handle everything from data transfers to voltage settings. We’ve earlier seen a couple of interesting voltage modifications where you modify the pins and in that way trick the processor to work at a higher voltage for better overclocking potential. OC Inside has now published interactive pin-mod guides for all of AMD’s current processor sockets; Socket AM2, Socket 939 and Socket 754 where you pick your voltages and get a picture of what pins to modify.

A quick and simple system which should make it easier even for serious overclockers that feel that the current voltage modifications aren’t enough. Physical modifications like these should be carefully considered though as there is a chance of permanently damaging your processor. The interactive guide and information about “pin-mods” can be found at OC Inside.de.
